Donald’s journey was no small feat. The list of World Cup final goal scorers is exclusive, with only 58 individuals having achieved this milestone. In 2007, Donald found that merely 34 of these football icons were still alive. Recognizing the significance of this group, he decided to capture their stories and images in a documentary.
The project was ambitious, covering locations across Europe and South America. Despite the logistical challenges and the realization that book sales alone would not fund the project, Donald's vision was brought to life with the support of a film producer.
"I’m not a mad football fan. What I most love about the game is its universal appeal," Donald remarked, highlighting the simplicity and global resonance of a goal being scored.
